Cinnamon bark essential oil is a sweet smelling oil that has a lot of therapeutic and healing properties. It is an oil that is gotten from the bark of a tree with the botanical name Cinnamomum zeylanicum. This tree is found in Asia, and Australia. Although the tree that is responsible for the production of cinnamon bark essential oil is found in Australia ,it is indigenous to India, sri Lanka, and Myanmar.
Cinnamon bark essential oil is not a very popular oil, as a result of this, it is quite expensive. Although produced in Asia, cinnamon bark essential oil is majorly imported by the United States and France.
As a result of its sweet smell, and its pungent taste, it is used as a flavouring in burying the taste of pyrophosphate in toothpastes. Also, in medicine, cinnamon bark is used as an anticoagulant, an antidiarrheal, and a general stimulant.
In addition to the fact that cinnamon essential oil was used as a general stimulant, it is presently used to heal wounds, reduce the level of cholesterol, kill bacteria, and control blood sugar.
